Review:
Bathsheba may be human but working for Midnight Liaisons, a supernatural dating agency, she is fully aware of the creatures that go bump in the night.  It is forbidden for her to date a client but when someone drops out leaving VIP customer Beau in the lurch she struggles to find a replacement date for him.  If she doesn't want to lose her job she has to keep Beau happy but if her boss finds out she has been on a date with him then she'll lose it anyway so she really is stuck between a rock and a hard place.  Not to mention the risk of Beau uncovering Bath's biggest secret - things are about to get complicated.

Beauty Dates the Beast is a fun, light hearted paranormal romance that was full of humour and had me laughing out loud several times while I was reading it.  I loved the relationship between Bath and her sister Sara and the way that Bath will do anything to protect her sister and keep her safe.  Bath was a good heroine, she does a couple of very stupid things but her heart is in the right place and she acts with good intentions.  The romance between Bath and Beau was sweet and well written, it was easy to see why she was attracted to him and I loved the way he was so determined to claim Bath as his own.  When Bath and Sara find themselves under attack from an unidentified shapeshifter they find themselves having to trust that Beau can help them.  It isn't easy for Bath to let someone else take control of the situation - she is used to being the one in charge - but she knows she can't deal with this on their own.

The world building is solid and I enjoyed finding out about the different kinds of shapeshifters and other paranormal creatures.   I also loved the idea of a supernatural dating agency and can see this causing all kinds of fun in future books.  This was a great start to a new series and definitely one that I'm looking forward to continuing.  This is the first book I've read by Jessica Sims (who also writes under the name of Jill Myles) but if all of her stories are this full of humour then I'm definitely looking forward to picking up more of her work.  If you're looking for a quick, funny read that has a good romance and a little action then I'm sure you'll enjoy Beauty Dates the Beast.
