So yesterday I had an incredibly exciting email from HarperCollins - one that actually involved a happy dance after I'd finished reading it! Along with the lovely Carly from Writing from the Tub I am joint leader of the UK Candor Faction!!! I'm really looking forward to the challenge and determined that we're going to bring Candor to victory :o)
Divergent was one of my favourite books of 2011 (read my review here) so can't wait to start reading Insurgent!
If you've already read Divergent then you'll be familiar with the 5 different factions: Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless and Erudite. If you haven't read the book then what the heck are you waiting for? Go and grab a copy today! Insurgent is being published on the 1st of May so you're going to want to catch up with the series in time to read that when it comes out.
I'm hoping this post can be somewhere for fellow Candor UK members can chat strategy ideas & get all the latest information about the event but we'll start with a quick reminder about what Candor stands for.

CANDOR:
1. the state or quality of being frank, open, and sincere in speech or expression; candidness.
2. freedom from bias; fairness; impartiality
That definition definitely helped me flesh out Candor more, particularly in the second book. The faction is not just trying to develop honesty– they’re also trying to develop impartiality. (Source Veronica Roth's Blog)

Now I haven't received the email with the full list of members for the Candor UK faction yet but some of you have already found me on Twitter so I thought I'd get started on the member list. If I've missed you off please let me know & I'll add your link in (I'll also make sure this list is correct as soon as I get the final list from HarperCollins)

If you're chatting on Twitter make sure you use the #INSURGENTUK and #CANDORUK hash tags so we're all in the loop!
Thanks so much to Kayleigh who created these fab buttons for us to use! If anyone else wants to have a go at creating buttons feel free to send them over to me though - we can never have too many!

I'm a teeny bit late (not quite sure how I managed to miss the #candoruk hashtag on Twitter lol) but I'm Candor as well.
ReplyDeleteA group email sounds like a fab idea :)
Welcome to the team Jesse! It's great to have you with us :o) I'll set up a group email as soon as I have the final team list & then we can start plotting ideas!
ReplyDeleteOk, so I'm very late to commenting - sorry about that, but... WHOOP! I'm loving the motto idea. I'm just writing my own post with a list of all the members, and mentioned that as a book blogger, I love that I'm in Candor as it's all about honesty :D Looking forward to the group email! :D
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the buttons have died. Anywhere else I can get them from?
Welcome to Candor Jo :o) Kayleigh just fixed the buttons for us so it should all be working now. Candor is a pretty cool team to be in!
ReplyDeleteAnyone who had the old code for the buttons will need to grab the new one to fix it
