Crafting Corner: Halloween Edition

Crafting Corner is a monthly feature will appear on the blog on the first Saturday of the month and I hope that some of you will join in with me. Crafting Corner is somewhere for us to chat about anything craft related - it can be sewing, painting, drawing, model making, in fact pretty much anything goes. You may want to review crafting books or just talk about any current projects you're working on or things that you'd like to start. I don't really have a set format for these posts so I'm just going to roll with it and see what happens but hopefully some of you will find it interesting and be willing to share what you're working on too. It doesn't matter what day of the month you join in but if you do take part please come leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can check out what you've been creating!

Technically I'm a little early posting this (it should really go up tomorrow) but since I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Halloween & the only thing remotely crafty I've done this month has revolved around Halloween it seemed silly to wait!

I hope you're all having a fabulous day full of lots of fun treats, fab costumes & cool, spooky decorations :o)

This is only the 3rd year that my Mum & I have carved pumpkins but even though it's a new tradition for us it's already one we love and each year we try to improve on what we did the year before. I think we outdid ourselves this time & we managed to come up with some quite cool designs. We spent last Sunday afternoon carving them with a family friend and these are what we came up with:

Just because I love them so much here are close ups of my two pumpkins:

What do you think? Did you carve pumpkins this year too? What are your favourite types of designs?

As much as I love dressing up I don't actually have any plans for Halloween this year but just because I'm not wearing a costume doesn't mean I can't fancy up my nails a bit. I already talked about nail art in my Crafting Corner post last month so I thought it would be nice to show you what I've been doing with my nails over the last couple of weeks to get into the halloween spirit :o)

Nightmare Before Christmas's Jack Skelington and Frankenstein & Bride
Spider & Webs

Anyway, I hope you're all enjoying your Halloween whatever you're doing to celebrate. If you've written about your Halloween costumes or any other Halloween crafts I'd love to see the posts so leave me a link in the comments & I'll come find them.

  1. Wow, those lanterns look amazing - despite saying I was going to this year I never did. Maybe one year I'll give it a go :)

    1. Thanks Jesse, This is only the 3rd year we've done pumpkin carving but I love it. It's a lot of fun & the results are well worth the effort :o) You really should give it a go next year!
