Book Trailer: Carve the Mark - Veronica Roth

I received some super exciting book post today, an arc of Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth, so I thought it would be a great time to share the fabulous book trailer. I'm a massive fan of the Divergent series (although I've still not read the last book after my friend's husband accidentally spoilered me!) so I've had Carve the Mark on pre-order for months now and it's one of my most anticipated reads of 2017! Obviously that means I'm going to be diving into this as soon as possible so watch out for my review on the 17th of January (release day).

Now let's have a look at the trailer:

What do you think? Isn't the trailer amazing! Who else is as excited about Carve the Mark as I am?

Here's the book blurb for anyone who hasn't read it yet and you can also find out more at Carve the Mark website:

Fans of Star Wars and Divergent will revel in internationally bestselling author Veronica Roth’s stunning new science-fiction fantasy series.

On a planet where violence and vengeance rule, in a galaxy where some are favoured by fate, everyone develops a currentgift, a unique power meant to shape the future. While most benefit from their currentgifts, Akos and Cyra do not – their gifts make them vulnerable to others’ control. Can they reclaim their gifts, their fates, and their lives, and reset the balance of power in this world?

Cyra is the sister of the brutal tyrant who rules the Shotet people. Cyra’s currentgift gives her pain and power – something her brother exploits, using her to torture his enemies. But Cyra is much more than just a blade in her brother’s hand: she is resilient, quick on her feet, and smarter than he knows.

Akos is from the peace-loving nation of Thuvhe, and his loyalty to his family is limitless. Though protected by his unusual currentgift, once Akos and his brother are captured by enemy Shotet soldiers, Akos is desperate to get his brother out alive – no matter what the cost.

When Akos is thrust into Cyra’s world, the enmity between their countries and families seems insurmountable. They must decide to help each other to survive – or to destroy one another.

I also found out today about a fabulous giveaway for anyone who pre-orders Carve the Mark or purchases it on the release day (17th January 2017) and submits their details through the Carve the Mark website here. This is currently only available to US and Canadian residents but I thought I'd mention it here for my international followers.

I'm absolutely gutted that this offer isn't open to UK residents too and I'm really hoping that HarperCollins UK will do something similar because Veronica Roth has written an exclusive short story that is an extra epilogue to the Divergent series! We Can Be Mended gives a glimpse of Four's life five years after the end of events in Allegiant and everyone who fills in the form by the 17th of January will be sent a free copy. Please, please let us have access to this story too HarperCollins UK!
